I painted Abraham looking up into the sky. God has promised him that he will have descendants as numerous as the stars. Abraham and his wife were old and did not have kids. His wife was too old to have kids by that time. But God has PROMISED to Abraham that he will have children.
Every night Abraham was reminded of that promise when he looked up into the sky. As years passed and they still did not have children, Abraham derived his hope from the promise that God made to him.
Through a miracle, Abraham and Sarah were able to eventually have a son. God’s promise came to pass. The tree symbolizes the family tree of Abraham. It was from his descendants that King David came and then the real King Jesus was born. The promise of having descendants as numerous as the stars was and is being fulfilled.
