My latest oil painting is called “Let Your Light Shine”. I painted a woman wearing a glowing dress against the backdrop of a starry night to represent the Bride of Christ letting God’s light shine through her in the dark world. The Bible says:
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
(NIV, Matthew 5:16)
In light of what is currently happening in the world, more and more people need hope that can only be found in Jesus.
“For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.”
(ESV, Romans 13: 11-12)
One of my favorite prayers to pray is to ask God to let His light shine through me. I feel like I get the answer to that prayer every time! My hope for this painting was to encourage believers to be the light of Christ to those around them.
