Sarah’s Hope

My new oil painting, “Sarah’s Hope”.

️”And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore.”

NIV, Hebrews 11:11-12

The painting depicts Sarah holding Isaac, her long awaited miracle baby, looking at the starts and overflowing with thankfulness for her son and the ultimate hope that child brought not only to her family line, or even for the future nation of Israel, but for ALL the nations. It was through Sarah’s family line that the Messiah, Jesus, came into the world.

I painted Sarah holding her baby close to show mother’s love for her child. I feel connected to Sarah because I too went through a period of infertility. My husband and I were told by doctors that we had to be treated for dual infertility.

That was then that my husband said that if we did get pregnant naturally, it would have to be a miracle from God.

So while we continued praying for a baby and BEFORE we did any treatments, God surprised us with a positive pregnancy test!

We knew it was a miracle from God.

Our baby girl is turning ONE year old this month & I can hardly believe it. So thankful for our little miracle!
