The painting depicts stormy ocean overlaid with the cross where the ocean is peaceful to represent the peace that we can find by trusting in Jesus.
“You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”
(ESV, Isaiah 26:3)
But more importantly than peace, trusting in Jesus for the first time gives us the gift of salvation.
The Bible says:
“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
(Romans 6:23)
If we admit that we are sinners, believe that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again, and trust in Jesus alone for the forgiveness of our sins, then our sins will be forgiven and our eternal future in Heaven will be secure.
